Mediumship |
At a Two Worlds Spiritualist Centre service we always have a Demonstration of Evidential Mediumship.
As part of our founding principles we believe in the continuation of life past this physical existence and that our spirit continues to exist ( and evolve) past death. Spiritualism is unique in that we do not just have faith that this is true - we provide evidence that ones spirit continues after death.
This is done through Evidential Mediumship. Mediumship is central to spiritualism as it demonstrates to people that their loved ones' spirit lives on , is in communication with them still, and that they will meet again and be reunited in spirit.
Evidential Mediumship is done through the Medium connecting to the Spirit of a person who has passed and bringing a message to their loved one on earth. Mediums will always try and bring some very specific evidence about the person, and it is uncanny sometimes , as the person receiving the message may be the only person aware of that information !
This is why it is called evidential mediumship - the medium provides clear evidence that ensures the person receiving the message knows exactly with whom they are communicating in spirit.
This can be a tremendously healing gift that frees a person from worry about their loved one who has passed. It can allow a person to move forward and to fully engage in their life here on earth, expand their consciousness and connection to spirit . It can also help light a spark in the person receiving the message to be much more aware of any communication from their loved one in spirit too!

MediumsMediums are people who have devoted tremendous time, effort and energy to hone their spiritual connection so they may communicate with the spirits of those who have passed on.
Mediums may sense the presence of a spirit through any of their senses . This includes visual, auditory, feeling ( usually through the bodily sensations and emotions the person felt while alive) , and even olfactory - meaning - yes - they sometimes experience familiar smells - like smoke or vanilla - if that was meaningful to the person. One medium who visited us described bringing a message through evidential mediumship as similar to "receiving a telephone call from outer space". The Mediums who take the podium at Two Worlds have all studied for many years to become proficient at clearly communicating the messages they receive. |
What to expect
During a Demonstration of Mediumship, if the medium comes to you just answer a simple YES, NO, I DON'T KNOW. It is very helpful for the Medium to hear your voice but the Medium does not require ( or desire) other information.
In other words - don't jump in with additional information. There is no need to withhold information either - for example - if they say "it seems to be a brother figure" it is acceptable to say "yes - my brother-in-law". Most importantly try and listen and take in the entire message as the act of extreme love and kindness it is - to travel and connect in this way is a gift to be received and appreciated by being fully present to everything said. |
